Terry Isaac - Wild life Art May 31 - June 3, 2012
Internationally acclaimed wildlife artist Terry Isaac grew up in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and it is there that he began his love affair with nature. Drawing inspiration from his own backyard and from the captivating vistas of the West he began to create dramatic wildlife art. He strives to capture "magical moments in nature" that appear with the right lighting, color and atmospheric conditions.
In his workshops Terry leaves nothing out and shows students exactly how he goes about planning and executing his paintings. He explains the whole process from gathering reference material, creating exciting compositions, techniques to produce depth in the painting and small details that make a big difference to the final product. Beginners will learn the fundamentals and more advanced painters will learn techniques to take their art to the next level.
Students may paint in the medium of their choice although Terry will work in Acrylics.
Please refer to the Guest Seminar page for more information.
#4 Introduction to Coloured Pencil - this exquisite piece of art is on display at Hearthspun now.
New Date:Saturday Mar 10 10am- 4 pm for instruction, plus 1 hour for questions and critiques
This class will be technique based where the morning is spent working up various discovery exercises on a variety of surfaces, followed by the small and simple project to be started/completed in the afternoon. It is a class geared toward those who have no experience whatsoever with coloured pencils. Coloured pencil is a very slow medium so students should come with the expectation of learning techniques but not neccessarily expect to get their piece completed. However, students who are up to speed after the morning session have a good chance to complete this design.
Upon completion of the class project and having it critiqued by Joann, she will make available to each student another simple project for free.
Teacher: Joann McLean CDA
Class fee: $75 includes the paper surface, pattern packet with photos, including a WIP sheet.
Medium: coloured pencil
Class size: maximum 8
Supplies needed: Prismacolour pencils, sharpener, drawing board, and a few other miscellaneous things.
